James Cavanaugh and Jane O'Brien awarded two grants

Dr. James Cavanaugh, in collaboration with Dr. Jane O'Brien OTR/L, was awarded a grant from the ºÚÁ϶ÅDivision of Exercise and Sport Performance, Occupational, and Physical Therapy to fund "Teleteaching: Innovation in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Interprofessional Education."  The Teleteaching project creates  classroom sessions involving ºÚÁ϶ÅOT & PT students interacting in real time with OT & PT clinicians at Maine Medical Center performing patient care duties.
 
Drs. Cavanaugh and O'Brien received a second Division grant to fund a experiential learning session for ºÚÁ϶ÅOT and PT students on the subject of Wheelchairs and Seating.   The day-long session brings local equipment vendors and manufacturers representatives to ºÚÁ϶Åwith the latest in rehabilitation wheelchair and seating equipment for children and adults.  The students will be joined as well by several OT and PT clinicians from Maine Medical Center.
