News stories feature UNE, Biddeford High School agreement
The September 16, 2015 announcement of a credit transfer agreement between ϶and Biddeford High School was featured on WMTW and WCSH as well as in the Portland Press Herald, Courier and Journal Tribune.
The agreement, signed by ϶President Danielle Ripich, Ph.D., and Biddeford Superintendent Jeremy Ray at Biddeford High School, will give Biddeford high graduates the opportunity to receive course credit at ϶if accepted to the university, provided that their scores on Advanced Placement (AP) exams meet specific cut-offs. If students are able to transfer a minimum of 30 credits, they may enroll at ϶with sophomore standing.
“This program requires students to be quite dedicated to their studies, quite thoughtful about their future, and very invested in a mature way of approaching their studies as high school students, and that’s a good thing,” Jeanne Hey, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences told WMTW.
